All Souls Day Celebrated in Kanubari Parish

  All Souls’ Day was celebrated in the Chopnu Village of Kanubari Parish on 2nd November 2015 with a celebration of Holy Mass for all the souls departed and blessing of the cemeteries here.  On the Feast of All Souls Day, Bishop George was there bless the Cemeteries in the village prior to a Solemn Holy Mass in which 210 people received the Sacrament of Confirmation and 36 children received First Holy Communion. Parish Level Women Convention at Dadam Parish

  By the grace of God, we conducted women convention for the women of St. Francis Assisi Church, Dadam. As a part of giving more importance to the catechists, we gave chances for the catechists to take classes for the women. The classes were on ‘discipline in the church, The duties of a mother and Sacraments. They animated the programme very well. It started on 30th of October, and ended on 1st of November.of April, 2015. There were around 170 women from the villages of Dadam, Chinkoi, Moktowa and Hunkan. The programme was conducted in Hunkan village. We started the programme with Holy Eucharist. There was Holy Eucharist on all the three days and on the second day there were classes on the above said themes. The catechists together with the fathers and brother (Br Nikhil OFM CAP) animated the programme very efficiently. They taught our women about God’s love, duty of a mother, discipline in the church and Sacraments.  All women together kept the Christian atmosphere. The Bishop of Miao, Rt. Rev. Dr. George Pallipparambil presided over the Holy Eucharist and honoured the place of chief guest and the wife of the honourable minister was the guest of honour. We thank the almighty God for all the blessings that he has showered all through these three days. (Fr. Seva Kendra Arunachal East Conducts Strategy Planning Workshop

  On the occasion of the 25 of years social service to the people in East Arunachal Pradesh, Seva Kendra Arunachal East (SKAE) has taken up a serious of initiatives to review, evaluate and plan for the years ahead to be more effective in its endavour to make a difference to the life of the people in this part of our Country. In this context, SKAE conducted a workshop on Strategy Planning on 5 and 6 November 2015 at Kristu Jyothi Niwas Tinsukia.  Mr. Kushal Neogi, Capacity Building Director, Catholic Relief Society and Mr. Martin Jojo and Miss Ruth, Capacity Building Coordinators from North Eastern Diocesan Social Service Society, Guwahati, were the main resource persons for the workshop. Mr. Neogi  explained the importance of Strategy Planning by presentation and group discussion. Sr. Rincy Kozhimala SH, the Director of SKAE thanked the 16 participants of the workshop. She said that exercise of this kind would serve us a tool to analyse the existing scenario of the eight Districts of East Arunachal Pradesh, to assess the strength and weaknesses, opportunities and threats/challenges of SKAE, and to design strategies for effective intervention and to put them into document for further references and actions. Presence of Bishop George Pallipparambil SDB, Bishop of Miao and President of SKAE, Rev. Fr. Jose Chemparathy SDB, Vicar General of Diocese of Miao, made a big difference to the workshop. Newman Educational Society Celebrates Radiance 2015

  The Newman Educational Society (NES), the educational wing of the Diocese of Miao organized Radiance 2015, an inter-school cultural festival, at Savio School, Kanubari, Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh from 19 to 22 October, 2015. The NES aims at providing a platform for students to exhibit their talent in arts, culture and sports every year. To achieve this aim, the NES has come up with the concept of Radiance, an inter-school festival to celebrate the talents in the field of arts, culture and sports.  There were 23 schools this year participating in the event, held at the newly built hall of St. John’s Church, Kanubari. There were competitions of different kinds, like patriotic singing, folk dance, fancy dress, skit, elocution, painting, and pencil drawing, held for three days. All the students participated with a competitive spirit. “The event was not only give a platform to the students but also to celebrate the diverse culture and tradition of Arunachal Pradesh”, said one of the organizers of the event.  Speaking on the occasion, Bishop George Pallipparambil, Bishop of Miao and the President of NES, exhorted the students to have deep love for their culture and environment. “We must always thank God for the gift of nature. In the context of all the deforestation happening all around, I appeal to you to be more caring for the nature and promoters of green. We must all stop hunting and plant more trees to maintain the balance of ecology”, he stressed. Congratulating the organizers, Fr. Thomas Erambil, Secretary NES and his team, he asked the students to make Radiance an event to celebrate and respect the diverse culture of Arunachal Pradesh. It was a treat to the eyes to see the students in different tribal attire in one place. The Holy Rosary School Changlang emerged as the overall champion of Radiance 2015. Mission Sunday Celebrated in Miao Diocese

  Various fund raising events were held to celebrate Mission Sunday in every centres of Diocese of Miao on 18th October 2015. Mission Sunday is an important Sunday for all the centres of Miao Diocese as all the people would be involved in a variety of fun games and fare and other fund raising events. This year was no exception. There were auction and fare and other events were held to raise fund for the Mission in almost all the centres of Miao Diocese. The Cathedral Parish in Miao under the leadership of Parish Priest, Fr. C. C. Jose, conducted auction and fare on 18th October. All the faithful were happy to contribute their small share towards the Mission. “Mission Sunday reminds me of the fact that I am not alone; I am part of the global Church, the Catholic Church”, said Mr. Chowjung Mossang of Neotan Parish, beaming with pride. Similar event was also held in Sacred Heart Church Neotan to raise funds for the Mission. Every member of the Parish took active part in the fund raising event held on 18th October.
