It was a historical day for the Sacred Heart Sisters (Pala Province) in Kharsang, Changlang District, on 21 September 2015 as they moved to a new Convent on this day.

On the Feast Day of St. Mathew, the Apostle and Evangelist, the Sacred Heart Sisters, who were living in a humble bamboo structure with tin sheet roofing, moved to a beautiful concrete structure in the august presence of distinguished guests and dignitaries.”

Mr. L. Naam, the Respected Circle Officer, Kharsang Circle, was the chief guest of this important  event. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the Sisters for the educational and healthcare service they are rendering to the people in and around Kharsang. “This house is not only for the Spiritual purpose but it for the the education and health care of the people in this area. May this new house enable you to do more and better service to the people in the coming days”, he said. He also thanked Bishop George for his great service to the people including the last villages of the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh. 

Sr. Alphonsamma SH, the pioneer of this mission in Kharsang, thanked Bishop for his generous support to the Sisters. “We are very happy and blessed with this new house through the kindness of our Bishop George. This is all the more special to us as we move to this new house on the 10th Year of Episcopal Ordination Anniversary of our Bishop”, she said. 

Bishop George thanked all those kind friends who made great sacrifices to make this house a reality. Echoing the words of Pope Francis, he said, “We must have optimal use of this house for the greater glory of God.”
