Youth Animation in Dadam and Kolam Parish

10th December, Dadam: The Youth in Dadam Parish had a three-day Animation programme from 6 to 8 December 2013 in their Parish Church, animated by Shalom Gospel Team from Digboi, Assam. Rev. Fr. Tomy, the Parish Priest and other Priests in the parish organized this event during the season of advent to help them prepare for the Christmas better. There were about 150 Youth from the four villages under Dadam Parish. The Animation began with a short prayer and Adoration. Speaking to the Youth, Fr. Felix said, “God has given each one of us some talents. And he has given that for some purpose. Let us not ‘bury our talent’ but use it for making ourselves and our society and our Church better.” He also requested them to have an aim in life and a strong desire to succeed.” The Animation team led the Youth with their melodious gospel singing through out. There were different competitions for all the youth and prize was given to each winner at the end of the Animation.  Similar Animation programme was organized for the Youth of Kolam Parish on 21st December. In Kolam too there were 150 Youth from four villages under its care. All the youth participated very actively and with enthusiasm in all the all sessions and competitions conducted during the course of the animation. “We thank our Parish Priest for organizing such animation for us during the time when we are preparing ourselves to receive Jesus in our Hearts. ‘Have A Vision for your Ministry’ Learn Junior Priests at Animation

11th December, Tinsukia: There was a day of animation for all the Junior Priests working in the Diocese on 11th December 2103 at Kristu Jyothi Niwas, Tinsukia by Rev. Fr. C C Jose, the Rector of the Diocesan Minor Seminary in Miao. The animation, attended by 21 Junior Priests working in the Diocese, helped the Priests to look at their Priestly ministry from a different perspective. Fr. CC Jose, animating the Priests said, “We need to be thorough professional in what we do as Priests. There should be no room for mediocrity. When we have a vision for our ministry as Priests, we will be able to do everything to achieve that vision.”  Bishop George Pallipparambil, addressing the Junior Priests gathered for the function, requested them to make Bible as their constant companion. “It helped me look at my Priestly life from a different perspective. To be a professional in what I do as Priest has shaken me up. I thank Fr. CC Jose for helping us to look at our Priesthood in a different light”, said Fr. Nepha Wangsa receives Gold Medal for Highest Mark in Political Science

Miao, 1st December: Nepha Wangsa, son of a Touring Catechist from an interior village brings accolades to our Diocese by receiving Gold Medal at the 12th Convocation of  Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Doimukh, Itanagar, attended by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Mr. Nabam Tuki and host of other public and political leaders, for securing the highest mark in Political Science in Arunachal Pradesh during the academic year 2011 – 2012.   Receiving the award from the Hon’ble Chancellor at the Convocation graced by Hon’ble President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee as Chief Gust , Nepha said, “I have faith in God that He will keep me well. I believe hard work is the only means to go ahead in life. Being the first son of the touring catechist of Ngissa Parish in an interior village in Longding District, I have learned that there is no substitute for hard work to succeed in life. My father taught me to work hard and leave the rest to God to take care.”  “I am so grateful,” he added “to those Fathers and Sisters who taught me. I fondly remember Rev. Fr. K C Vincent SDB and our Bishop George Pallipparambil who taught me that hard work coined with discipline is prerequisite for success in life.” “The lesson I learned from the Fathers who taught me ‘Do something worth doing’ always rings in my ear,” he concluded. Expressing joy at his son’s achievement, Mr. Wangjam Wangsa the Touring Catechist of Ngissa Parish said, “I cant hide my joy. He has made all of us proud. I hope that his example inspires many tribal boys and girls like him from remote villages like ours to make these ‘unknown’ villages known globally. Sengapather in Kumari Parish Rejoices at their new Church Blessing

Kumari: Sengapathar, the oldest Catholic community under Kumari Parish, rejoiced at the blessing of the new Church on 22nd November 2013, by Bishop George Pallipparambil SDB, in the presence of a big gathering of faithful. Sengapathar, a big Catholic community with 6oo faithful, had a humble church made of bamboo with thatched roof. With a little help from a few people of good will, the faithful built this church from their own little contribution. Bishop George addressing the congregation on the occasion congratulated the people for saving from their own little income to build this Church. “This is an example of what we can do if we are determined to achieve something. I congratulate all the faithful of this village for the sacrifice they have made to make this church a reality,” he said. Village Church Blessed in Lamlo, Deomali Parish

Lamlo Village, a small Tutsa community in Tirap District was very happy to have a new church blessed in their midst by Bishop George Pallipparambil SDn on 26th November. Immediately after the conclusion of Year of Faith, a humble Church was blessed to strengthen the faith od this new Catholic Community. Many people from Deomali were present for the blessing and the function that followed it. The Church was small and so many had to stand outside during the Holy Mass, presided over by the Bishop and concelebrated by Frs. Linus and Francis. The Church was was inaugurated by Miss Maria and Miss Dorothey from Poland, cutting the ribbon together, accompanied by loud applause from the people gathered. Bishop George in his homily stressed the need to be vigilant and careful about what they hear and see.   Frs. Linus Jamuda and Francis Kurian togther with Sisters Shiny MSMHC, Pauline Narzary MSMHC and Cecilia Ekka MSMHC prepared everything well for the day.
