Mary Help of Christians Parish Borduria organized Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the month of June. It was started with lots of speculations whether this prayer will be loved by the people or not. But the Sacred Heart of Jesus Himself worked miracle in the lives of the people. This Novena prayer united the families of the parish. It brought many families to pray together for each other. Families felt the presence of Christ in their lives. The old, young and children all gathered together to pray the Novena. After completion of the Novena the whole family came to the Church for Mass and confession. It was encouraging to see that all the Catholic families of Borduria completed the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. At the end of the Novena all the families were blessed by the Parish Priest or the Assistant. Impressed by the devotion of the Catholics some of the Baptist families also joined the Novena. They too received blessing from the all loving Saviour during the Holy Eucharist. After the Novena, some of them experienced physical and spiritual healing. Most of the families are experiencing lots of joy and peace in their family life. The Church attendance, specially of men too have increased. Rosary and Devine Mercy prayers have become the common prayers of the family. Now other villages too wanted to begin such novenas and popular devotions in their churches and families. This reiterates the role such novenas and popular devotions play in the Catholic life of the people. Fr. Pradeep Soreng SDB & Fr.
