Kristu Jyothi Minor Seminary Miao Inaugurates Academic Year 2013 – 2014
27th June, Miao: Kristu Jyothi Minor Seminary, Miao, inaugurated its new Academic Year for 2013 – 2014 on 8th June 2013. Rev. Fr. Jose Chemparathy SDB, the new Rector of the Seminary and Fr. Joseph Telangani, the Assistant Priest and Administrator were led to the Altar of God in procession by the Seminarians who arrived a few days earlier. They planned and prepared well for this important day of the year. During the offertory, the seminarians presented themselves together with the bread and wine to express symbolically their inner desire and willingness to become labourers in His Vineyard. The Diocese conducted many vocation camps during the summer holidays this year, under the leadership of Fr. Joseph. The result of these camps is very encouraging as we have 18 local young boys in the seminary. The classes are on in full swing. “I am very happy to be here, learning new things every day and becoming closer to God,” said one of the Seminarians while speaking about his experience in the Seminary. “We would like to thank all our benefactors who make big sacrifices to help us in our aspiration to become Priests to serve God through His people.” said another. It is the first academic year in this newly constructed seminary building. The seminarians were linving in a humble house made of bamboo with tin sheet roof till December 2012. “We thank God for all our benefactors who contributed generously towards the construction of our new Seminary and we also pray for them everyday. Miao, June 23: Rev. Fr. Francis Karuvalo, the Superior General of the Society of the Missionaries of Francis Xavier (SFX) together with Rev. Fr. Allan Noronha, the Provincial Superior of Kolkta Province visited Miao on 22nd June. The Superior General, who is visiting Miao for the first time, said he is indeed very happy to have visited the Diocese of Miao, where his Priests are working in two mission stations. Both Frs. Francis and Allan were given a warm welcome by the Minor Seminarians in Kristu Jyothi Seminary, Miao. Bishop George together with Fr. C C Jose, the Rector of the Minor Seminary and other Fathers from Bishop’s House were very happy to welcome Fr. Loiliang, Tezu, June 22: The Boys at St. George’s School, Loiliang, Tezu, could not hide their joy on the occasion of the Blessing of a new Hostel Building for them on June 19th 2013 by Bishop George. Loiliang is a small village of Mishmi Tribe, in the Lohit District of Arunachal Pradesh. It is a sub-station of Tezu Parish. The FMA Sisters have a School here. The Hostel for the children was a necessity as the children had walk for hours every day up and down to the school. Rajanagar, Miao, 20th June: Three days of faith formation for the youth of the parish was organized by DBYA besides village level animation in Hukan Nala, Kamung Pathar, Bijliban, Kherem Mura, Lalung and Rajanagar one, two and three villages by youth For Christ team. The occasion aimed at intensifying the faith of the people, especially the Youth. A prayerful Eucharistic procession was held on 30th April followed by Adoration, praise and worship. Eucharistic Procession and adorations were held in other villages too. May 1st was dedicated to the feast of St. Joseph, the patron of the Parish, felicitation of all the pioneer missionaries, On this great occasion, the Silver Jubilee of the Ordination of Rev. Fr.
