5th August, Longo: The Youth in St. Mary’s Parish, Longo, came together for a three-day animation programme from 23 to 25 May, 2013 at the Parish Church under the leadership Fr. Jose, the Parish Priest in Longo.

To promote the Year of Faith, the Fathers in Longo organized an Animation programme for the Youth to help them grow in the Faith and help others to do the same. The Youth were divided into few groups and were given different topics to discuss and come up with the possible solutions to the problems facing them personally and the society. It helped them have a look at themselves and become aware of the various problems that are prevalent among them. They said, “Drugs and other addictions are taking the Youth away from the Church and places them at the risk of losing themselves. Now is the time to change.”

Bishop George, speaking to the Youth on the concluding day of the Animation, reiterated the fact, “You are the Future. The Society needs you and the Church needs you.” He also encouraged the Youth to become agents of change in the Society that needs them.

The Animation concluded with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration by Bishop George with Fr. Jose Thakarappallil MF, the Parish Priest and Fr. Jose SDB from Borduria Parish. Congratulations to Fr. Jose and his team.
