Village Church Dedicated to the Year of St. Joseph

A beautiful village Church was blessed and dedicated to the Year of St. Joseph on Saturday 27 November by Bishop George Pallipparambil of Miao Diocese.

Bishop George blessed and dedicated the village Church at Jengpothar in the presence of Mr. Somlung Mossang, MLA of Diyun-Bordumsa constituency and friends and faithful from Miao and Kharsang sub division of Changlang district.
Speaking on the occasion, Bishop George said, “St. Joseph is a role model for every walk of life. He is a good father who taught the values of hard work to his son, he is a good husband who cared for his wife and child and he is a good servant who always listened to God’s promptings”.
The church is built by the people of the village by their own contribution.

Appreciating the people for their love for the Church, he appealed to them to grow stronger in faith and invoked the protection of St. Joseph on them.
People from all faith were present for the blessing and dedication of the Church.
Echoing the words of Holy Father, Bishop George said, “St. Joseph in caring for his Son Jesus protected the beginnings of the Church and he continues to do so even now. May he protect this Church and this village.”

Speaking on the ocassion, Somlung Mossang highlighted the role of St. Joseph in the life of Jesus Christ. “In the modern day context of mobile and internet, St. Joseph is an ideal example to follow”, he said. “A good caring husband, an ideal father and a hardworking craftsman. He is a role model for every age”.
The blessing event concluded with a special prayer dedicated to St. Joseph.

Jengpothar village under the Sacred Heart Parish Neotan is one of the nine substations of the parish and is the smallest community of Langching tribe of Arunachal Pradesh.
