School children run for peace in Arunachal

A school under Newman Educational Society in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh organized a run for peace in Arunachal as part of its sports week celebrations on 18 November 2017.

Newman School in Neotan in Changlang district, holding its annual sports week from 15 to 18 November organized a run-for-pace in Arunachal from Government Higher Secondary School, Namphai, covering a distance of 4 KMs.

Inaugurating the event MS. Namrata Tiwari, the Judicial Magistrate of newly established Namphai Circle, appreciated the school management for picking up initiatives to engage the students in sports and games. “True and complete education is not confined to the four walls of the classrooms; it should rather promote the physical, mental and intellectual ability of a student”, she said.

The four-day event saw the children competing in various games and sports like kabbadi, tug-of-war, and football many other and concluded with a run-for-peace in Arunachal.

The event was flagged off by Miss Kiley Adams, the reigning Taekwondo World Champion from America.
