Prayer Service organized to celebrate World Environment Day in Neotan Mission
Celebrating the World Environment Day, the people in a small village called Neotan in Arunachal Pradesh held a candle light prayer service for the Environment and distributed plants on 5 June 2016 at a traffic junction here.
Realizing the importance of safe guarding the environment and in the wake of increased global warming, the people in Neotan village in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh held a prayer service to spread awareness about the protection environment. Fr. Felix Anthony from Neotan thanked all the people for gathering for the prayer service irrespective of the religious background within a very short notice. “God created the world for all of us and so protecting the environment is everybody’s concern”, he said at the gathering.
The venue of the event of was very significant as it was in a traffic junction where people from all religious background could gather and become aware of the importance of safeguarding the environment.
Saplings were distributed at the end of the prayer service. Mrs. Dangnai Mossang, Anchal Samiti Member from here, expressed her happiness at this initiative of the people in Neotan and hoped many more people will follow this example to protect and promote environment.

The prayer service was held at the Grotto of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Namphai I, a busy traffic junction that connects to Miao in Arunachal Pradesh and Tinsukia in Assam.
