14th November, 2013, Miao (Dadam and Longo): The Fathers in Dadam and Longo Mission stations organized a three -day Women Convention from 8 to 10 November 2103 in their mission stations as part of the conclusion of the Year of Faith in the mission.

The Capuchin Friars from Dadam, Rev. Frs. Tomy, Kuriakose and Yesudas together  with the women leaders in Dadam organized the three-day event for the women group from all the four villages under its care. There were 30 participants each from the four villages of Dadam Parish. Sr. Leo and Francisca MC from Borduria and Ms. Chamay Rajkumari from Deomali were the main resource persons. Fr. Anoop VC from Tissa Retreat Centre also animated the women gathered for the event.

The three day event came to conclude on 10th November with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration.

Hon’ble MLA, Mr. Y. Matey, the Parliamentary Secretary for Department of Tirap & Changlang, Social Welfare and Women & Child Development was the Chief Guest at the concluding day programme. Speaking at the event, he said, “In our society, there is no discrimination between men and women. In fact the women in our society play larger role in the every day activities.” He also congratulated the Fathers and Sisters for organizing such event for the welfare of the people of his constituency. 

Similar event was organized also by the MF Fathers in Longo Mission Station in Noksa village for the all the nine mission stations under its care. There were 15 participants each from all the nine villages. Fr. Paul Vilanguparayil officiated the Holy Mass on the concluding day.

Hon’ble Speaker, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Mr. Wangling Lowangdang was the Chief Guest at the cultural programme at the conclusion of the convention. He heaped praise on the Fathers for organizing separate events for the different sections of the society. He also promised full support to the Fathers for the future events of this kind.
