Unity Expressed at the New Church Blessing in Jengpathar, Neotan Parish
4th January, Miao: It was a day of expression of unity on 4th January 2014, when the small Catholic community Jengpathar together with the brethren from different believing community in the village rejoiced at the blessing of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Church here by Bishop George Pallipparambil SDB.
There are only three catholic families in this village but it was their request to the parish priest that made this Church a reality. Jengpothar is a village under the Sacred Heart Parish, Neotan. It is situated about 4 Kilometers from Kharsang.
The Church was solemnly blessed by our Lordship Rt. Rev. Bishop Geroge Palliparambil, SDB. The blessing was attended by the youth of both Neotan and Injan Churches who also provided melody to the singing during the mass. A group of 70 parishioners from Changlang who was on a pilgrimage to Miao also attended the blessing. They were accompanied by Frs. Shoby and Lijo. There were 5 concelebrants alongwith the Bishop to solemnize the Eucharistic celebration. Apart from this Sisters from Changlang, Kharsang, Injan and Neotan were also part of this important occasion.
All the people of the village whether Baptist or other denominations also came to be part of the celebrations. All were provided lunch which was prepared by our Baptist brethren. It was a unique example of unity and oneness. The church is a small one but the fellowship and the message their lives give is truly exemplary.
There were 3 children for baptism and First Holy Communion and 15 people were confirmed.
