Miao Diocese Prays with Pope Francis for the Persecuted Christians
The Diocese of Miao joined Pope Francis in his prayer for the persecuted Christians all over the world on 1 March, 2015, with a special prayer service conducted at Christ the Light Shrine, Miao.
In the wake of the rising persecution against Christians all over the world, especially in the Middle East, Pope Francis called on all the faithful to pray for persecuted Christians on 1st March at 2 pm local time. The Diocese of Miao joined the Pope with a special candle lit prayer service. The Catholic faithful and a good number of friends from other faith backgrounds gathered at the Chris the Light Shrine and prayed for the persecuted Church and asked God to stop these inhuman and horrifying crimes that are committed against the Christians.
Everyone present was deeply moved with tears to hear about the heinous cruelty committed against the Christians. “I feel deeply disturbed by what is happening to our brothers and sisters across the world. I join with our Pope to pray for them. I hope it ends soon”, said Mr. Likhum, the Church secretary in Miao.
“The Church is going through a difficult times. This reminds me of the what happened during the Apostles’ time. God has always answered our prayer and I am sure he will help us all”, said Mrs. Mossang. “I thank Pope Francis for helping us to express our solidarity with our persecuted brothers and sisters”, she added.
The Diocese of Miao has been praying for our Pope for his good health and for his safety in the wake of increased threat for his life. During the month of January the children in the Diocese recited 22064841 “Hail Mary” for the same intention.
