It was a great day of joy and celebrations for the Catholic Community at Mohanbari Airport on 13th May 2015 when their old humble old bamboo church was replaced with a pukka church.

The Catholic community living near the Mohanbari Airport, Dibrugarh is a special community of mixed tribes from Tirap, Longding and Changlang Districts of our Miao Diocese. These Catholic faithful built a small bamboo Church for their Prayers and Sunday Mass. Fr. Terence from Dibrugarh Bishop’s House was catering to their spiritual needs and latter Fathers from Kristu Jyothi Niwas, Tinsukia took care of their spiritual needs.

Bishop George, inaugurating the new Church, thanked God for blessing them with this Church and prayed that through it many more would come to know Christ. “God does not look at the shape and size of our building of worship. But He sees the quality of our life and purity of our soul. Let this Church help us improve the spiritual quality of our life and sanctity of our soul”, he said.

The faithful thanked God and the kind donors for helping with this new Church. Fr.
