Christ the Light Shrine Celebrates Parish Feast with Eucharistic Procession
A solemn Eucharistic Procession with a huge number of faithful marked the celebration of the Parish Feast at Christ the Light Shrine Miao on 10 January 2015.
In a huge gathering of Catholic faithful from 10 centres of Miao Diocese, the Parish Feast of Christ the Light Shrine celebrated the Parish Feast with a solemn Eucharistic Procession. There were about 1500 people for the procession that started at the Christ the Light Seminary Ground and concluded at the same venue, going around the Miao township. The faithful from the procession and the Holy Mass were from Namsai, Rajanagar, Nampong, Manmaw, Jairampur, Diyun, Changlang, Khonsa, Deomali and Neotan.
Bishop George thanked everyone for coming to the event in big numbers and invited everyone to experience the Mercy of God during this Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy. “The Catholic Church has a tradition of celebrating Jubilee every 25 years. But this year Pope Francis has declared as the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy not only to experience God’s Mercy but also to be messengers of His mercy among His people”, he told while addressing the people.
Celebrating the Baptism of our Lord as Parish Feast, Fr. Jose Chemparathy SDB, the Parish Priest, went around to mobilize a big gathering for the event on 10 January 2015. Most of the centres responded to the invitation very willingly as the number of participants for the event turned out to be more than expected.
The event began with an Eucharistic Adoration with the theme of Jubilee of Mercy. Everyone experienced God’s blessing and healing. “I am very happy that I came for this great event in our Diocese from a far away place. I experienced God’s blessing today”, said Mrs. Lowang at the end of the great event.
Congratulations to Fr. Jose, the youth of the Parish and all the Parishners, the Seminarians and all who made the event a an event of God’s blessing for all.
