Changlang Parish begins New Year with Pilgrimage to Christ the Light Shrine, Miao
The parishioners of Holy Rosary Church, Changlang, began their New Year with a pilgrimage to Christ the Light Shrine, Miao on 4th January 2014.
A team of 65 pilgrims from the Parish started their pilgrimage with prayer and reached the Shrine with singing hymns and reciting Rosaries all though the way. On the way they stopped at Jengpathar village for the blessing of the new village church on the same day. After witnessing a solemn blessing, the pilgrims proceeded to Miao in the afternoon. Upon arrival, they were received warmly by Fr. CC Jose, the Rector of our Minor Seminary, Fr. Paul, the Administrator and by the Seminarians.
The pilgrims experienced peace and joy as they spent time in prayers in the Adoration Chapel at the Shrine. “It was a deeply spiritual experience for all of us to come here on pilgrimage and to spent time with the Eucharistic Lord at the Adoration Chapel. We are happy to have begun our New Year with this pilgrimage”, said one of the pilgrims.
After a short Miao-Darshan and having dropped in at Neotan Parish, the pilgrims reached Changlang back at 10.30 pm. “We thank our Bishop George, Fr. CC Jose, the Rector, the Bishop’s House Community, Seminarians and Neton Community for the warm welcome and for making our pilgrimage a success,” says Fr. Shoby. (Fr. Shoby Simon, Parish Priest, Changlang)
