Bethany College of Miao Diocese bags Four Gold Medals in University Results 2020

Namsai, 28 November: With four gold medalists, the Venerable Uktara Bethany College (VUBC), Namsai has produced outstanding results in the recently concluded undergraduate examinations 2020, conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh.

Four students of VUBC, the only Bachelor Degree College of Miao Diocese in east Arunachal Pradesh, have topped the RGU results declared on Friday, 27 November.

Ajam Mossang is a Gold Medalist in Bachelor of Commerce, Kimtu Jugli in History, Chow Luseng Manchey, Geography and Ahhie Megha bagged Gold Medal in Sociology out of the 42 colleges registered under the oldest university of the state.

Expressing happiness over the excellent performance of the students, Sister Janet Mendonca, the Principal of the College said, “These students give us hope for the future and satisfaction that our hard work has not gone in vain”. Appreciating the staff for their dedication towards the students, the Bethany Sister said, “All our professors are in their 20’s but their passion and commitment to their role as educators is the primary reason for the outstanding academic performance of the college over the years”.

VUBC was established only six years ago by Bishop George Pallipparambil sdb as a response to the repeated requests from parents and students who would often scout for good colleges outside the state.

Congratulating the students and the faculty, Bishop George said, “Now that you are the toppers in academic pursuit, may you be the toppers in the examinations of life as well by the quality you demonstrate”.

Within six years of its existence, VUBC has produced 10 state level toppers.

Began with 55 students in 2014, the first batch of students were graduated in 2017 with two Gold Medalists and seven rank holders. In the subsequent years, the college has continuously produced Gold Medalists and rank holders. In 2018 the college had two Gold Medalists and 11 rank holders and in 2019 two students bagged Gold Medals and 15 were rank holders.

The college also has registered a 100% pass result this year with all the 92 students clearing their undergraduate examinations.
